I haven’t posted them yet as I’m still in the production process. But I’ll be sure to post them on both my Insta and Vinted, so if you’re following both, you’ll see them very soon xx

Hua Hin you are missed

Been a while……

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on my blog. And to some, it may seem like I have neglected my online home; however, it’s quite different.

If you know me well or see the photos I post of myself, you’ll understand that I like to be decorated, and one of my favourite ways to do so is through jewellery. I tend to feel naked without jewellery, as although I love a good outfit, what is a look without accessories?

I pride myself on my extensive collection of bags, hats, belts, scarves, and, most importantly, jewellery, which solidifies my style and sense of self. Initially, creating nose jewellery was a pain-free and cost-effective alternative to piercing. Then, it soon became something I would gift my friends and make before going out, even in the Uber to my graduation. However, in December last year, another one of my friends’ birthdays rolled around, and I thought of making something different.

Last summer, I bought an arm cuff and wore it to Paris. It looked nice in the store, but after a couple of days, it lost its shine and overall spark. I saw all other social media handmade arm cuffs, which not only showcased the creator’s imagination but also their personality. I thought, why not try to create my own? Surely it couldn’t be that hard, I had jewellery wire, I can follow instructions, I can make an arm cuff. And I did, well, not a very good one (sorry Zara), but it was the start of me creating my collection.

EXCESSORY

So, from the start of 2026, I learnt everything I could, from testing different materials and beads, finding the best width, testing durability, practising weaving techniques, and finding the place to sell. It was a very long and expensive period, especially since sales were slow on Vinted, but shout out to the three who did purchase my arm cuff and necklace. Nonetheless, I knew I wanted to create something really special, so that when people saw it would say, ” Yeah, that makes sense” or “That’s very Maryam coded”, and I do think I may have that.

So, what is the collection, and when is it coming out

Rough drawings of my earlier designs

My collection has changed a lot. When I decided to do the whole shebang and come out with a collection, I created at least three designs for each piece of jewellery. This came up to be 25+ pieces, which, in hindsight, is insane. Thankfully, a Google search and a couple of YouTube videos later, I realised that wouldn’t be possible without at least a mild form of burnout and constant clutter in my small room.

I needed something smaller that still stood out. I changed my approach and revolved my collection around a very special item that I will share soon, something that screams HKBarbie and is unique in its versatility.

I currently don’t have a release date as there is still much to do, like getting all my materials ready, packaging, photoshoots and creating content, etc., but I do hope by the next bank holiday at least. So please pray for sunshine soon so the product shoot can EAT, but you know nothing is guaranteed in the UK, so we’ll see.

Also, a big thanks to those who actually read my blog; it really makes me happy when people ask me about it. You are a big part of motivating me to keep pursuing my passions. I will look to you for advice on this launch, so please interact with my Instagram, and I hope I’ll make you proud!
